The Festival

A week apart from the fast pace of modern life. apARTE is a new chamber music festival dedicated to supporting rising talents, founded by international musicians from Mozart’s Salzburg. We offer:

  • Free Concerts – Featuring top musicians from Europe and Latin America.

The first edition of the festival is dedicated to Antonio Meneses, one of the most beloved cellists of our time. Organized by his last students, apARTE is inspired by his journey from humble origin in Rio de Janeiro to artistic excellence: practice, practice, practice!

Why is a project like apARTE necessary?

"I grew up in the East Zone of São Paulo, where opportunities are scarce and children's dreams are kept away. Yet talent flourishes in silence, waiting for its moment. We are here to create connections through art and transform barriers into bridges."

When did the idea for apARTE first come?

"I recently witnessed a children's orchestra from a favela in Brazil perform for the Pope in the Vatican. This experience reinforced the idea of creating a space where motivated artists can step away from everyday chaos to inspire meaningful change in the world."

Who would you like to see at apARTE?

"Last year, I booked a last-minute flight to Cuba, for a project where artists were driven by an almost obsessive love for music. That's the authenticity that we're looking for: people who bring passion, talent, and endless curiosity to their music."

Concerts

Free concerts featuring top musicians from Europe and Latin America take place daily in museums and public cultural spaces throughout Rio de Janeiro. Are you sure you want to miss this?

All schedules will be published here on June 8th. Stay tuned and don’t miss an event near you!

Application

We are excited to invite 20 talented musicians from all over Brazil to participate in the first edition of apARTE, including 12 violinists, 4 violists, 2 cellists, and 2 double bassists.

Required Materials

Send your application by April 27th, including:

  • A short bio with your chamber music experience

  • A self-introduction video

  • Recordings of the required audition repertoire

Selection Process

Our selection committee will review applications based on:

  • Musicality, technical skills and creativity

  • Enthusiasm for the festival

  • Alignment with the project’s vision

Successful candidates will receive an email by May 18th with the next steps.

Applications will open on March 9th.

Eine Woche abseits vom schnellen Rhythmus des modernen Lebens. apARTE ist ein neues Kammermusikfestival zur Förderung aufstrebender Talente, gegründet von internationalen Musikern aus Mozarts Salzburg. Wir bieten:

  • Kostenlose Konzerte - Mit Spitzenmusikern aus Europa und Lateinamerika.

  • Vollstipendien - Unterkunft und Verpflegung für teilnehmende junge Musiker:innen.

Unsere Missionen

  • Brücken bauen – Eine kulturelle Brücke über den Atlantik schlagen, um Menschen durch die universelle Sprache der Musik zusammenzubringen.

  • Türen öffnen – Finanzielle Barrieren für junge Talente aus benachteiligten Verhältnissen abbauen und Chancen schaffen, um ihre Karrieren zu voranzubringen.

  • Bühnen neu denken – Kunst durch die Stadt atmen lassen mit Konzerten in Museen und gemeinsam auf der Bühne lernen statt allein im Übungsraum.

Die erste Ausgabe des Festivals ist Antonio Meneses gewidmet, einem der beliebtesten Cellisten unserer Zeit. Organisiert von seinen letzten Schülern, ist apARTE inspiriert von seinem Weg aus bescheidenen Verhältnissen in Rio de Janeiro hin zu künstlerischer Exzellenz: Üben, üben, üben!

Warum ist ein Projekt wie apARTE nötig?

"Ich bin in der Ostzone von São Paulo aufgewachsen, wo es kaum Chancen gibt und Kinderträume fernbleiben. Doch Talente gedeihen still und warten auf ihren Moment. Wir sind hier, um durch Kunst Verbindungen zu schaffen und Barrieren in Brücken zu verwandeln."

Wann entstand die Idee zu apARTE?

"Kürzlich habe ich ein Kinderorchester aus einer brasilianischen Favela für den Papst im Vatikan spielen sehen. Das bestärkte mich darin, einen Raum zu schaffen, in dem motivierte Künstler aus dem Chaos des Alltags heraustreten können, um die Welt inspirierend zu verändern".

"Letztes Jahr buchte ich spontan einen Flug nach Kuba, für ein Projekt, in dem Künstler von einer fast obsessiven Liebe zur Musik angetrieben wurden. Genau diese Authentizität suchen wir: Menschen, die Leidenschaft, Talent und unendliche Neugier in ihre Musik einbringen."

Bewerbung

Wir freuen uns, 20 talentierte Musiker:innen aus ganz Brasilien zur ersten Ausgabe von apARTE einzuladen, darunter 12 Geiger:innen, 4 Bratschist:innen, 2 Cellist:innen und 2 Kontrabassist:innen.

Erforderliche Unterlagen

Sende eure Bewerbung bis zum 27. April, einschließlich:

  • Einer kurzen Biografie mit der Erfahrung in der Kammermusik

  • Einem Selbstvorstellungsvideo

  • Aufnahmen des erforderlichen Probespiels-Repertoires

Auswahlprozess

Unsere Auswahlkommission wird die Bewerbungen basierend auf folgenden Kriterien prüfen:

  • Musikalität, technische Fähigkeiten und Kreativität

  • Begeisterung für das Festival

  • Übereinstimmung mit der Vision des Projekts

Erfolgreiche Bewerber:innen erhalten bis zum 18. Mai eine E-Mail mit den nächsten Schritten.

Uma semana à parte da correria do dia a dia. O apARTE é um novo festival de música de câmara dedicado a apoiar talentos emergentes, fundado por músicos internacionais de Salzburgo, a cidade de Mozart. Nós oferecemos:

  • Concertos gratuitos - Com alguns dos melhores músicos europeus e latino-americanos.

  • Bolsas de estudo integrais - Estadia e alimentação para jovens músicos participantes.

"Recentemente, presenciei uma orquestra de um projeto social de Recife tocar para o Papa no Vaticano. Essa experiência reforçou a ideia de criar um espaço onde artistas motivados possam se afastar do caos do dia a dia para inspirar mudanças significativas no mundo."

Inscrições

Estamos felizes em convidar 20 talentos de todo o Brasil para participarem da primeira edição do apARTE, incluindo 12 violinistas, 4 violistas, 2 violoncelistas e 2 contrabaixistas.

Requisitos
